In Nagari Koto Kaciak is held to show Islamic classical art actions. Local people call it Indang Tuo. Indang Tuo is an indang that broadcasts Islamic religious teachings through tambourine art.
“This Indang originally developed in Aceh, then spread to Jorong Balai Belo. In Jorong Balai Belo, this art has been around since 1958,” he said.
The history of Indang began when the Prophet made a game for 11 children of Bujaha or Sudaki. They are unjust children who are embraced so that they become great scholars and scholars.
“They are given a kind of Ripa’i or tambourine game as a medium to attract gradually, so they want to follow the teachings of Islam,” he said.
The eleven sons of Yuzalim grew up to become great scholars who preached Islam. Some of them, managed to get to Aceh and play the art to attract people to participate in Islamic teachings.
“The development of Islam in Aceh is quite rapid through the Indang Art. Until finally it reached Pariaman through Sheikh Burhanuddin or Abdulrahman,” he said.
While being able to get to Koto Kaciak, he continued, through several figures who studied at Pariaman. Such as Raba’in Sutan Parpatiah, Limun Sutan Majo Kayo, Saripudin, and Sutan Pamenan. It was around 1958.
