Tambua Tansa

This art comes from the Indian nation brought by a Gujarati (Indian) trader to Tiku Pariaman which used to be the largest port on the West Coast of Minangkabau in the 14th century AD. These musical instruments began to develop in various regions in Minangkabau such as in Maninjau and Lubuk Basung. Cultural mixing, both due to marriage and trade between the Minangkabau indigenous people in Pariaman and migrants from South Asia (around India, Bangladesh, and Iraq and Pakistan). This means that since the arrival of the South Asian people, the art of Gandang Tambua was formed. It is suspected that Gandang Tambua is an art from the result of collaboration or assimilation between local cultural products of Pariaman and immigrant tribes (South Asia)
