Embung nagari which has been visited by Mr. Staff of KEMENDES and P3MD West Sumatra Province On February 7, 2018, has the potential of natural beauty with the greening of people’s plantations and the amazing beauty of the sunset which is the prima donna of twilight hunters can unwind and tired after doing daily activities, in this concept visitors will feel the beauty of a peaceful and exotic environment. The potential contained in embung ampang kamang can encourage people to be able to recreate and not forget to capture the moment when seeing the beauty of nature around embung ampang kamang. The distance of tourist sites from the capital of Dharmasraya Regency is about ± 6 km. Around the embung area is decorated with flower gardens that are in demand by many people for tourism. The purpose of the Nagari Sungai Dareh government to create this park is in addition to providing open space for the community to influence the improvement of the community’s economy and also increase the original income of the Dareh River Nagari, Pulau Punjung District, Dharmasraya Regency. To realize the tourism potential of Nagari Sungai Dareh, there needs to be encouragement and cooperation between the Central Government, Provincial Government, Regency Government and Nagari / Village Government and the community. With the encouragement of cooperation from all parties, this tourist park will soon be realized as planned. Embung Ampang Kamang is one of the tourist destinations in Jorong Ampang Kamang. This destination is a favorite destination of local residents because of its strategic location and also relatively cheap entrance tickets. In 1961 Embung Ampang Kamang which was once a vast expanse of land whose ownership belonged to the local community. And in the same year the land was made Embung is the main place in irrigating community rice fields. Embung Ampang Kamang which has an area of approximately 1.5 hectares with a depth of 1-2 meters. In 2002 it collaborated with the surrounding community to expand the land to be able to irrigate the surrounding rice fields. In 2013 the community and also the head of the local jorong have succeeded in expanding the area of the reservoir to 2.4 hectares, and in the same year a penetration was also carried out on the reservoir so that the reservoir looks better and also attractive. In 2017 various assistance came in to help repair or beautify the reservoir so that more visitors came. One of the assistance is from the funds of DPRD members which are sheltered by BUMNAG funds. With these funds, it is able to increase the facilities of the ducks which are also the attraction of visitors to the reservoir. Around the tourist attraction, the local community also sells a variety of traditional culinary Nagari Sungai Dareh. This concept aims to generate a better and independent economic turnaround, so as to awaken the works of MSMEs in the Dareh River community to trigger community creativity so that the number of unemployed people in the Dareh River area will also decrease.
