Manggopoh Palak Gadang Tourism Village is one of the villages located in Ulakan Tapakis District, Padang Pariaman Regency, has long been known as the center of Islamic development in West Sumatra and surrounding areas which enter through the east coast of Sumatra Island through watersheds from the Strait of Melaka. Currently, the Tomb of Sheikh Burahanuddin is a Cultural Heritage Object of Padang Pariaman. One of the famous activities is ber-Syafar (in Minang language called Basapa), in the form of a pilgrimage visit to the grave area of Sheikh Burhanuddin as a Great Ulama of Shatariah which is carried out every year after the 10th of Safar. This is related to the day believed to be the date of the death of Sheikh Burhanuddin, namely 10 Safar 1111 H / 1691 A.D. Basapa Tradition Intangible Cultural Heritage of Padang Pariaman Regency and has become Indonesia’s Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2020The tomb of Sheikh Burhanuddin has been designated as a cultural heritage site, and is one of the strategic areas in Padang Pariaman Regency.Basapa is an activity that is familiar to the people of Padang Pariaman, especially those from the congregation of the Syattariyah Order. The activity was carried out as an expression of respect to Sheikh Burhanuddin for his success in developing Islamic teachings in Minangkabau.
