Administratively, Nagari Pagadih is located in Palupuh District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province, with hilly topography between 900 – 1300 masl. Nagari Pagadih is inhabited by 2,200 people divided into five (5) jorongs including Jorong Bateh Gadang, Jorong Pagadih Mudiak, Jorong Tigo Kampuang, Jorong Banio Balirik and Jorong Pagadih Hilia, whose tourism is managed by Pokdarwis Pesona Pagadih and KUPS Agroecoeduwisata Pesona Pagadih.
Nagari Pagadih has very complex tourist attractions, namely Nature Tourism, Cultural Tourism, Religious Tourism and Historical Tourism.
The development of the tourism sector in the era of globalization, especially in this digital era, is slowly changing tourist preferences to natural tourism which certainly offers environmental insights and local wisdom contained therein which is then known as ecotourism.
Nagari Pagadih in Palupuh District, Agam Regency is one of the interesting Nagari to be used as one of the tourist destinations. In addition to tourist points that are almost spread throughout the nagari area, both that have been naturally formed such as Bukik Ngalau Limestone Cave which is only 200 meters from the main road. In addition, Nagari Pagadih also has a conservation area which makes it very potential to be developed into Nagari Ecotourism.
Ecotourism development strategies combined with the plantation sector (Agro) education (edu) which is packed with cultural attractions and the spirit of nature and environmental conservation are expected to answer the needs and trends of tourists in the present and the future.
