Sianok Canyon is a landscape formed due to the movement of earth faults. The fault extends and winds from the south of Koto Gadang Canyon to Nagari Sianok Anam Suku and ends at Palupuh. It has a depth of about 100 meters and a length of approximately 15 kilometers with a width of 200 meters.
This longitudinal fault called the Semangko Fault forms a steep wall, perpendicular to the valley and river flow which is referred to by local residents as Batang Sianok.
The name Sianok attached to this canyon comes from the Minang language which means quiet or quiet, because this area has a calm and peaceful atmosphere. Coupled with the cool and clean air. On the banks of the Batang Sianok River, there are many huts that can be used as a place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
